Important information regarding purchasing rough opal parcels:
Each rough parcel is identified by a four letter name, such as “WAAA”, “WAAB” etc. Please click on the "Opal Rough" link located along the left edge of this page to be taken to the page showing the parcels that currently are for sale.
Most of the photos are taken with the pieces wet to give you a better idea of what they will look like. For each parcel you will see a photo containing the word “DRY” - that photo was taken with the pieces dry. For each parcel you will also see a photo containing the word “PARCEL” - that photo shows all of the pieces contained in that parcel. Other photos may show close-ups or only a few of the pieces in the parcel. With some parcels both sides of the stones will be shown or different angles of the same piece or pieces may be shown. I am not a professional photographer, but I have been cutting opals for over 15 years. In all of the photos I try to portray the pieces as accurately as possible. I try to show them as they actually appear. I use a Canon G11 with its flash on. No photo is perfect, but I try.
Please click on the "More Images" link below the main photo to see more photos of that parcel or item.
The price of each parcel is in US dollars. At this time postage will be free to addresses within the USA. There will be an extra charge for postage to addresses outside of the USA. Please read the details for each item carefully.
The black and white ruler in the photos is marked in centimeters (the fine lines indicate millimeters). The lines on the gray background are spaced at 1 inch intervals.
Of course I want all of my customers to be more than happy. If you are unhappy with any parcels you purchase from me, you are welcome to return them within 7 days in their original and unaltered condition (that means, among other things, they have not been sawn, sliced, sanded or worked in any way) for a refund of the purchase price (not including shipping). Please email me before you return anything or if you have any questions or concerns.
These parcels are subject to prior sale. Prices are subject to change.
Please be aware these are rough pieces of opal - they are rough stones. They may contain cracks, pits or other flaws. They can be quite sharp. They should be handled carefully. I have done my best to represent these pieces as accurately as possible. Please examine the photographs closely. It is impossible to show every aspect of a piece of rough in only a few photos.
Although I have priced these parcels fairly, with the opinion that the buyer will have plenty of room to make a fair profit, I am making no guarantee regarding any profit or success you will have with these pieces.
Buying rough can be a gamble - proceed at your own risk.

Feel free to email me with any questions. Happy cutting!
